Welcome to Burlap and Butter Knives!  My little corner of the world where we cover all things homemade and homegrown, from the backyard to the kitchen counter.  I was born and raised in the illustrious and historic  Hudson Valley.  I spent a few years living in Palm Beach, Florida, but couldn’t stay away from my home.  I’ve been a nanny and a private chef; attended the Culinary Institute of America  where I received a degree in Baking and Pastry Arts as well as in Restaurant/Business Management, and worked at a world renowned four star hotel.  My family means the world to me and my dream is to live a sustainable life.  I love playing in the dirt, growing my own food, cooking my own food, and being inspired by everything and everyone around me. I love canning, jamming, preserving  pickling and putting up.  I think the “good wife’s guide”  is an excellent (not only but excellent) handbook for women.   I believe in growing old with grace. I’m a bit wild, I’m a bit zaney, impetuous always, and passionate even more. I try to live a “green” life, but I’m not crunchy granola.  I like to live, and breathe, and love, and do it all as naturally as I can.
